My Heart is Still Full Because of You

It’s hard to believe it’s been four years. Our precious girl taught us so much about love, and how to share and accept it. That unconditional love that holds on and lasts forever. She made me a better person and my Lily-Belle and Mr. Mo can thank her and her brother Mojo for that. Until them, I wouldn’t have believed I could be as responsible and committed to a creature as I have been to these balls of joy and fur – I give my heart and soul. They provide me with light. These precious beings we welcome in. They save us, so often, as much if not more than we save them.
Today, as I share this memory from 4 years ago, I want to ask anyone and everyone looking to add a beautiful being to their family, to adopt. All our babies have been either adopted or given to us for one reason or another. That has been the case my whole life and not once has it ever been a regret or second thought. There are beautiful purebred pups in shelters along with the adorable mutts, as well as breed-specific rescues.

As I honor my precious girl today on this gratitude-filled day for the life she shared with us, for all she is and was to me and my husband, hopefully, I can spark an interest in sharing your life with a dog who needs a home. Fostering is always needed as well. Know that even if you think your place is too small, a home with a human versus a cage in a shelter is heaven to a pup.

And last, a senior pet is a gift, giving them love filled final day is an incredibly powerful joy within itself. Shyann passed just before her seventeenth birthday and Mojo was seventeen. Those final years were of course challenging, but I will hold them dear forever. Special Needs Senior Dog Sanctuary
